Corona's transition in the state is also worryingly increasing as the Assembly elections are being held in West Bengal. Record cases of Corona are being registered during the elections, with the worst situation being in the capital Kolkata.

Here, one out of every two people undergoing Corona RT-PCR test is coming back positive. At the state level, one out of every four people coming out with Corona report is positive, five times more than last month, out of 20 Corona tests a month ago Only 1 person's report was coming positive.

Labs in and around Kolkata that are testing Corona are getting a 45-55 per cent positivity rate in their tests, while in other cities in the state the level is around 24 per cent, up from just 5 per cent a month ago.

The chairman of another hospital said that the positivity rate in our lab has gone up to 50 per cent, and there is a lot of pressure on testing samples, but it is good that people are now coming forward for testing.
