The BJP has infiltrated the Samajwadi Party (SP) family. BJP has given district panchayat ticket to former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's niece Sandhya Yadav. Sandhya Yadav has been made a candidate for the post of District Panchayat Member from Ward No. 18 of Ghiror. Sandhya Yadav is the sister of former MP Dharmendra Yadav and is the outgoing district panchayat chairman.

Sandhya Yadav had last won the post of district panchayat chairman from the Samajwadi Party. It is said that a no-confidence motion was moved against him at the behest of the Samajwadi Party chief MLA and the BJP helped him at the time. Sandhya Yadav's husband has already joined the BJP and the BJP has now given the ticket to Sandhya Yadav.

Sandhya Yadav became the chairman of the district panchayat from Mainpuri in 2015. In July 2017, the SP itself had tabled a no-confidence motion against him. The reason given was that Sandhya Yadav's husband Anujesh Pratap Yadav supported the BJP in Firozabad.

The no-confidence motion against Sandhya Yadav had 23 signatures out of a total of 32 district panchayat members. He later defended his seat as district panchayat chairman by colluding with the BJP. He has since moved closer to the BJP and completed his five-year term.
