Bengal elections: BJP supporter's mother killed before polls, TMC accused of assault

In West Bengal, the third phase of polling began on Tuesday. Violence erupted at Gaughat in Hooghly before the polls in which the mother of a BJP supporter was killed. The BJP has blamed TMC workers for the woman's death. However, the TMC has denied all these allegations.

Political violence was reported at Gaughat in Hooghly. TMC activists are accused of attacking the 50-year-old mother of a BJP supporter. A woman named Madhavi Adak was seriously injured in the attack. Madhavi Adak sustained serious injuries and died during treatment at the hospital.

According to the BJP, Madhavi Adak's son is a BJP supporter. TMC activists surrounded his home. Madhavi Adak was involved in a dispute between TMC activists and Madhavi Adak's son. The TMC is accused of beating up Madhavi Adak and inflicting serious injuries on her. However, the TMC has dismissed all the allegations as baseless and claimed that their activists did not attack anyone.
