American astronaut Michael Collins, who successfully landed the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, has died on April 28, 2021. He was 90 years old and the whole world knew him for the Apollo 11 mission. Neil Armstrong set foot on the lunar surface shortly after the Apollo 11 mission landed on the moon, followed by Buzz Aldrin.

Michael Collins' only goal was to successfully land Apollo 11 on the lunar surface and then return to Earth with Neil and Buzz. The module in which Neil and Buzz left Apollo 11 and reached the moon was called The Eagle. The journey to the moon was not easy for all three of them.

The journey began as soon as the radio contact with the earth was lost. Then the computer glitched and The Eagle was running out of fuel. More than 40,000 people contributed their hard work and time to accomplish this mission. NASA Acting Administrator Steve Jursick said the world lost a true astronaut today on the death of Michael Collins.

On one side while Neil and Buzz were orbiting the moon, Michael was circling the moon with the spacecraft. Neil and Buzz were able to return safely to Earth because of Michael, according to Steve. Michael’s grandson said his grandfather fought the battle against cancer very bravely but lost in the end.
