Any officer who interferes with oxygen supply will be hanged: Delhi High Court

New delhi date. April 24, 2021, Saturday

Oxygen shortage is rampant in Delhi for the fifth day in a row. On the other hand, the Delhi High Court is in a dilemma over oxygen supply.

The High Court may have made an unprecedented remark. "If any official of the central, state or local bodies has obstructed the oxygen supply, we will suspend it," the high court said on Saturday.

The High Court made the remarks while hearing a petition filed by a Delhi hospital for oxygen supply. The court told the Delhi government, "Tell us who is disrupting the supply of oxygen ... we will hang the person." We are not going to let anyone down. If there are any such local authorities, also inform the Center so that the Center can take action against them.

Oxygen has caused an uproar in Delhi. Twenty-five more patients died at another hospital in Delhi on Friday evening due to lack of oxygen. The shortage of oxygen supply is still there and hundreds of patients are at risk of death.

More than 500 patients are currently on oxygen support at Delhi's Gangaram Hospital alone. One hospital after another in Delhi is seeking government help for oxygen. Saroj Hospital has stopped recruiting new patients due to lack of oxygen.
