16 arrested, including ABVP leader, for attacking Rakesh Tikait, BJP alleges


- BJP questioned why the police remained silent despite being present there

The convoy of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait was attacked on Friday at Tatarpur in Rajasthan's Alwar district. Some people attacked him by stopping his car under the pretext of welcome and even threw ink on him. The glass of his car was also smashed. After the attack, Rakesh Tikait tweeted accusing the BJP. Tikait alleged that he was attacked by BJP goons.

Tikait's convoy was attacked by 33 people on Friday, according to the complaint. So far 16 people have been arrested in the case. Rakesh Tikait and Rajasthan DGP ML Lathar's father-in-law Rajaram also tried to snatch weapons from the security personnel of the mill.

Police have arrested 16 people, including ABVP activist Kuldeep Singh Yadav, in the case. Rakesh Tikait blamed the BJP for the attack and termed it tactical. The BJP has said it has nothing to do with the attack. Besides, the BJP had questioned the police and questioned why the police remained silent despite being present there.
