Amid the ongoing campaign for the West Bengal elections, speculation is rife that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman and former India captain Sourav Ganguly will join the BJP.
It is being said that Ganguly will take part in PM Modi's rally on March 7 and in the meantime he may join the BJP. However, neither Ganguly nor the BJP has yet confirmed this speculation. The BJP, however, said it was up to it to decide whether Ganguly should join the BJP or not. If Ganguly wants to attend the rally, he is welcome.
Ganguly has recently undergone two angioplasties after suffering a heart attack. He underwent two more stents during the surgery.
"We know that Sourav Ganguly is resting at home and if he attends the rally considering his health, we think people will like him, but nothing has been decided yet," the BJP said.
