Which direction are we going? The CM of Uttarakhand objected to the fashion of torn jeans

Dehradun, Ta. 17. Wednesday, March 2021

Tirath Singh Rawat, who recently became the CM of Uttarakhand, has objected to the fashion of wearing ripped jeans.

"Through ripped jeans, we are setting a bad example for our children," Rawat said at the inauguration of a two-day workshop on drug abuse. We are giving our children the sacrament of scissors. Where is the tendency to wear torn jeans, show off the knees and look like rich children? This does not come from home and there is nothing wrong with teachers and schools. Which direction am I taking my daughter wearing torn knee jeans? Young women are not far behind in showing their knees. So this is right, right ...? We are doing this in the blind race of westernization and while the western world is imitating us.

He further said, "I was shocked to see a woman running an NGO wearing torn jeans. I was wondering, what message is this woman giving to the society by wearing torn jeans?" We need to understand that our children are imitating what we are doing.
