West Bengal elections: BJP announces first list of 57 candidates, Mamata VS Shumbhedu in Nandigram

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its first list of candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections. The BJP has then announced its candidates for the first two phases. BJP general secretary Arun Singh said the BJP's Central Election Committee has sealed the names of 57 candidates for Bengal.

Shubhendu, who left TMC and joined BJP, will contest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram. Elections are to be held in eight phases from March 27 in West Bengal, which has 294 assembly seats.

In the first list, BJP has announced the names of 56 candidates of its party. While his ally party has left Baghndi seat for today. For the first phase, tickets have been given to Shantanu Pramanik from Khejari seat, Sukhmay Satpati from Zargam, Tapan Bhuiyan from Khadakpur and Sambit Das from Medanipur.

In the last assembly elections in West Bengal, the BJP won only three seats. However, this time the party is working hard in the desert of Bengal. The BJP has claimed to have won more than 200 seats in the state.

On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee has announced the names of all her candidates. TMC is contesting 291 seats. While Darjeeling has decided to give three seats to its ally.
