India will get 3 more Rafale fighter jets on Wednesday which will join the Golden Arrow Squadron at Ambala. These fighter jets will fly from France and the UAE will allow them to refuel in the sky along the way. The planes are expected to reach Gujarat at 7:00 pm. With this, India will have 14 Rafale aircraft.
The power of the air force will increase
A further 9 Rafale aircraft will be added to the Indian Air Force next April. 5 of which will be deployed at Hashimara Airbase in West Bengal. French Ambassador to India Emanuel Lenin said on Tuesday that India would receive five more Rafale jets by the end of April.
He also expressed pride in being able to deliver the Raphael jet to India ahead of schedule. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the aircraft was inducted into the Indian Army in July-August last year. The planes have been deployed against eastern Ladakh and China on other fronts.
India struck a deal in 2016 to buy 36 Rafale aircraft from France. About 50 per cent of those aircraft will reach India by the end of April. Equipped with modern facilities, Raphael is able to fight on all three fronts.
