According to the report, Major General Asaf Al Qureshi, Director General of Police in Mecca, clarified that Saudi men wishing to marry foreign women now have to abide by strict rules. The move is aimed at preventing Saudi men from marrying foreign women. If a man wants to do this, he has to complete a number of formalities, including getting special permission.

"Those who marry foreign women must first get the government's approval and submit a marriage application through official channels," the report said. The rules make it clear that divorced men will not be allowed to apply for a new marriage within 6 months of the divorce. "All the rules have to be strictly followed," Qureshi said. And its violation will be prosecuted.

Applicants must be over 25 years of age and must be accompanied by documents signed by the local district mayor, as well as all other identity cards. Which also includes a copy of the card to his family. If the applicant is already married, he will have to attach a hospital report that proves that his wife is handicapped, or suffering from a chronic illness, an official said.
