Theft at Jyotiraditya Scindia's 'Jai Vilas' Palace, Doddham in police administration


- Presumption of a fan and computer CPU being stolen

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajya Sabha MP and Maharaja Jyotiraditya Scindia of Gwalior's Jai Vilas Palace has fallen into disrepair. The burglary at the most secure Jai Vilas Palace has caused a stir in the police administration. What was stolen from the palace has not yet been uncovered but police are trying to reach the thieves with the help of a sniffer dog.

Gwalior's superintendent of police said in a burglary case at the Scindia Dynasty's Jai Vilas Palace premises, news was received from Rani Mahal on Wednesday morning that thieves had broken into a room in the palace through a rooftop. A Dog Force and a forensic team were sent along with the police officer and the police force as soon as the notification was received. Fingerprints have been taken from the scene and a fan, computer CPU is said to have been stolen.

It may be mentioned that Jay Vilas Palace is also very popular abroad and foreigners also come to visit it. The palace was built by the wealthy Jayaji Rao Scindia in 1874 and is spread over about 40 acres. The palace is estimated to be worth around Rs 4,000 crore.
