The state ordered offices, hotels and hospitals to reserve 5% parking for electric vehicles

The Kejriwal government in Delhi has issued an important order to reduce pollution and promote electronic vehicles. The government said that Delhi's cinemas, multiplexes, office spaces, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, etc., which have a parking capacity of more than 100 vehicles, will have to reserve 5% of their parking capacity for electric vehicles.

The Delhi government has issued a formal order in this regard. According to the order issued by the Delhi government's energy ministry, five per cent of the parking capacity will be reserved for electronic vehicles and slow electric charges will have to be arranged in the parking lot.

As per the order, all the complexes have been given time till December to upgrade their systems under the Electric Vehicle Policy. At the same time, a subsidy of up to Rs 6,000 per charging point will be given to such complexes. The decision is expected to make more than 10,000 electric vehicle chargers available in Delhi by December.
