The Sensex opened stronger on the first day of the week, with the Nifty also gaining ground

The first day of the week is witnessing a rally in the stock market. With the market opening this morning, both the Sensex and the Nifty have seen gains. Market sentiment has strengthened due to GDP data on Friday last week.

Today, the Sensex is trading at 49,721, up more than 600 points, while the Nifty is also trading at 14,715, up 186 points.

The business is witnessing heavy action in IT, bank and financial stocks. Shares like Powergrid and ONGC are up more than 3%. Airtel is down about 3%. Speaking of global signals, major Asian markets have seen a decline today.
