A very shocking incident has taken place at Kolkata in West Bengal. One daughter sprayed kerosene on her father-in-law and set him on fire. The whole incident has been captured on CCTV cameras at the scene and police have arrested the girl and started investigating the case.

The 22-year-old had earlier reportedly served food to her father at a restaurant and also drank alcohol. He then allegedly killed his father when he was drunk.

Giving details of the incident, a senior police official said the girl had gone to a restaurant with her father on Sunday night and had also given alcohol to her father there. They later went for a walk on Straide Road. The girl said she poured kerosene on her father and allegedly set him on fire when he fell asleep on a bench on the banks of the Hooghly River.

According to police, the girl has confessed to the crime and was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by her uncle.

During the interrogation, the girl said that her mother died when she was young. The father then started harassing her which stopped after her marriage. She then returned home after her marriage broke down and the harassment began again. Police are currently investigating the allegations made by the girl. The girl was produced in court and the court remanded her in police custody till March 29.
