Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the discussion by holding a meeting with all the Chief Ministers of the states through video conferencing to check the re-emergence of the Corona virus in the country. New cases of corona virus have been on the rise in the country for the past one week. Vaccination is in full swing in the country but a large number of new cases are being reported in states including Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The meeting has become very important as a high-level committee visiting the Corona-affected states recently is to present a report and the Prime Minister is speaking to the chief ministers for the first time since the vaccination began. The Prime Minister expressed concern over the rising positive rate in states like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, if this wave of Corona is not stopped here, it will have a nationwide effect, he said.

Testing will have to increase

The Prime Minister said that the people should not be brought into a panic mode or an atmosphere of fear should be created. We have to save the masses from trouble and reuse old experiences. Testing will have to be taken seriously by taking the test track and treat again. The number of RT-PCR tests has to be taken above 70%. Rapid testing is done in Kerala, UP, Chhattisgarh is a matter of concern.

States reduce vaccine waste

The Prime Minister asked to reduce the waste of vaccines along with speeding up the process of vaccination. The Prime Minister said that the figure of vaccine waste in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, UP has reached 10 per cent which is inappropriate.
