Catholic priest Wilhelms told reporters that the blast was heard just as the church was praying. I was leading the prayer when the bomb exploded in the morning. Deployed security personnel said two people came to the church on a motorbike, after which they tried to enter the church.

However, as it was not possible to enter, they blew themselves up on the ground. A similar attack took place on the island of Bali in 2002 in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country. In which 202 people were killed.

Most of those killed in the attack were foreign tourists. In Indonesia, extremists are now targeting people of other faiths. As a result, there is an atmosphere of fear even among the foreign tourists coming to Indonesia now. Four guards were also injured in the attack on the church.
