Speak up ... Transport department hit a truck driver without a helmet for Rs. 1,000 fine

In Odisha, the transport department has been found guilty of gross negligence and a man has been fined Rs 1,000 for driving a truck without a helmet. The incident took place in Odisha's Ganjam district and was revealed when truck driver Pramod Kumar went to the RTO office to renew his permit. Despite the negligence of the transport department, Pramod Kumar had to pay the fine.

When Pramod Kumar reached the transport department office to renew the truck's permit, the officials informed him that he was yet to pay the fine. When Pramod Kumar asked the reason for the fine, the officials informed him that he had been fined for driving without wearing a helmet.

Pramod Kumar had made several arguments for driving without a helmet for the truck but the permit would not be renewed until the fine was paid. Eventually, Pramod Kumar, a water supply worker, had to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 to get his permit renewed.
