Ranchi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni tops list in animal husbandry after cricket

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket and one of the best finishers, has now become one of the best pastoralists. In a program organized at Birsa Agricultural University, he has been awarded the title of Best Gopalak for his outstanding work and contribution in the field of animal husbandry in Eastern India.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni runs a dairy farm in addition to growing vegetables and fruits in a 43-acre farm house. He was given a memento and a shawl in his honor at the East Region Regional Agrotech Farmers Fair held at Birsa Agricultural University on Saturday. Which was accepted by his representative Kunal Gaurav.

Birsa Krishi Vishwavidyalaya at Kanke, Ranchi hosted the Regional Agriculture Fair and Agrotech Farmers Fair of the Eastern Region. There was also an exhibition of animals. The exhibition featured two cows from Mahendra Singh Dhoni's dairy farm for the first time. One was of cross breed and the other was of Sahiwal species. There was also a calf with a cross-bred cow. This cow gives 35 liters of milk daily.

The winners were selected by a 6-member jury. In the selection process, the anatomy of the cow, milk capacity etc. were examined. A separate dairy farm has been set up at Mahendra Singh Dhoni's farm house in Ranchi with 104 cows at present. It has the highest number of Gir, Friesian and Sahiwal breeds of cows including native breeds.
