The elderly may be the most affected by the Corona epidemic, but you may be surprised to learn that the elderly are more positive and happier than the younger ones. This was revealed in a recent research. Research has shown that the ability to cope with challenges and cope with difficult situations increases with advancing age, and the elderly benefited from the Corona era.

Studies show that as a person gets older, his mental acuity and physical health may decline, but his emotional well-being increases with age. On a daily basis, people aged 50 and over have higher levels of positive emotions and less negative emotions than young people.

Opportunity to know the distance

The big question facing scientists to find out the emotional gap between young and old was whether people learn the skills to cope with the situation with advancing age. Or the elderly may develop a tendency to overlook stressful situations and risk less. Scientists have always wanted such an environment to find the answer to both these scenarios and coincidentally they got this opportunity when the epidemic broke out in April last year.

1,000 people involved

In the wake of the Corona epidemic, a team led by Stanford University psychologist Laura Carstenson conducted in-depth research to find out the mental and emotional reality of young and old. The study, conducted in April, involved 1,000 people aged 18 to 76 from various states in the United States. He came up with the result based on the questions asked and his answers.

Answer about 16 positive and 13 negative emotions

The survey participants were asked to provide detailed answers to questions related to the various emotions experienced during the week. The questions included 16 positive emotions such as stress and happiness. Also asked were 13 negative emotions such as anger and guilt.

When the epidemic broke out, everyone believed it was having a greater effect on the elderly. They were losing more lives than young people. But after this research, the elderly can say that their lives have not been affected as much as their children or grandchildren.
