Railtel has found a way to earn as well as provide free Wi-Fi. Pockets have to be lightened to get high speed Wi-Fi facility at railway stations. A minimum charge of Rs 10 will be charged for using this facility. Railways has launched paid Wi-Fi plans for more than 4,000 stations. However, passengers will continue to benefit from the already running half-hour free Wi-Fi plan. If you use 5 GB of data after half an hour, you will have to pay Rs.

The stations will continue to offer free Wi-Fi at 1 Mbps speed for half an hour, but passengers will have to pay a fee if they want to use the internet even after half an hour. For this, Railtel, which provides internet facility, has launched a paid plan.

According to Railtel's CMD, passengers will be offered free Wi-Fi at 1 Mbps while paid Wi-Fi will be at 34 Mbps. Under the postpaid plan, a fee of Rs 10 will be charged for a 5 GB data pack and Rs 15 per day will be charged for using 10 GB data.

Similarly, to use 10 GB data in 5 days you have to pay Rs 20, to use 20 GB data in 5 days you have to pay Rs 30 and to use 10 days you have to pay Rs 40. Passengers will also be able to take a one-month plan in the postpaid plan. Under this plan, you will have to pay Rs 70 for a 60 GB data pack.

After using Wi-Fi for half an hour, a message will come on the mobile. The latter will have the facility to pay the fee through gate-way. Railways offer free Wi-Fi for half an hour at more than 7,950 stations. 29 million people have availed this facility before Kovid-19.
