Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat's statement on the fashion issue of ripped jeans is yet to be disputed. Ganesh Joshi said, "Women should stay at home and take care of their children." Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan has criticized Ganesh Joshi's statement on Twitter. Ganesh Joshi then clarified that what he meant was that women should stay at home and take care of their children.

Replying to Prashant Bhushan's tweet, he said that they have lost everywhere. Ganesh Joshi said that he meant that when children are alone at home for hours, they watch many programs on TV so that they want to do the same in their minds. That is why women should take care of their children by giving more time at home.

"Everything depends on your thoughts and there is nothing wrong with wearing jeans," he said. Earlier, Tirath Singh had apologized to women across the country over his statement on women. Then his minister Ganesh Joshi said there was nothing wrong with wearing jeans and also advised women to stay at home.

Ganesh Joshi was asked whether he agreed with Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat's statement. In his reply he said that everything depends on his own thought what one thinks. He further said that he also has a daughter and they never question her dress.
