Maths, Physics and Chemistry will no longer be compulsory in Std. 12 to study in engineering colleges.

The All India Council for Technical Education has taken a revolutionary and drastic decision in the field of education.

The Council has now abolished the rule of compulsory teaching of Maths, Physics and Chemistry in Std. 12 for the study of engineering. It is aimed at students entering college to study engineering from a background.

Due to this change, even those who have not studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry in Std. 12 may want to become an engineer. According to the new rule, at least 45% will be required for admission in Std. The student will be required to pass in three subjects.

These fourteen subjects include Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practice, Biotechnology, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies and Entrepreneurship.

On the other hand, courses will be offered by the university keeping such students in mind. This rule will be implemented from 201-22.
