A day ago, the Chancellor of Allahabad University wrote a letter to the DM objecting to the sound of the azan coming from the loudspeakers of a mosque in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Done, however the police have now become active.
Prayagraj's IG KP Singh on Thursday wrote a letter to the DMs and SSPs of the four districts in the range, urging them to strictly abide by the Pollution Act and High Court-Supreme Court orders, under which there would be a complete ban on playing loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am.
