Kerala: The BJP has rejected the ticket given to an MBA student

Thiruvananthapuram, Ta. 17. Wednesday, March, 2021

In Kerala, the opposite is the case when BJP and Congress candidates are vying for tickets.

Assembly elections are to be held in Kerala in the coming days. For this, the BJP had given a ticket to Mani Kuttan, an educated youth belonging to the Scheduled Tribes, for the Wayanad district assembly seat. His name was also in the list of candidates announced by the BJP.

However, the 31-year-old has now refused to contest on a BJP ticket. "I was shocked when I saw my name on TV. I phoned and informed the party leaders of my decision not to contest respectfully," he said. .

Manikuttan, who has an MBA degree, says he wants to serve the country not as a leader but as a common man and does not want to get involved in politics.

The BJP's political presence in Kerala is negligible. The party currently has only one MLA in the state. The BJP is pushing hard to gain a foothold in Kerala.
