Indo-US military-to-military engagement to escalate, military tensions between the two countries escalate

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd James Austin is currently on a three-day visit to India. A delegation-level meeting was held between Secretary of Defense Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd James Austin at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi today. The meeting agreed on a number of important issues between the two countries. Meanwhile, CDS General Bipin Rawat and the Chiefs of the three Armies were present.

In a statement issued after the delegation-level talks, Rajnath Singh said, "We have agreed to enhance cooperation between the Indian Army and the US Indo-Pacific Command, Africa Command." We have signed LEMOA, COMCASA and BECA agreements. India is fully committed to further strengthening its strong defense partnership with the United States.

"Our relationship is a stronghold of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific Region," said Austin. Prime Minister Modi said that India stands for Freedom of Navigation and Freedom of Overflight. This confirms our joint vision for regional security.

Announcing the joint statement, Rajnath Singh said, "I am pleased to say that we had a comprehensive and useful dialogue with Defense Minister Austin and his delegation." We are committed to experiencing the full potential of a broader global political partnership.
