Indian Army to get stronger, green light for purchase of 4960 Milan anti-tank guided missiles

The government has been buying arms for some time now to strengthen the Indian Army.

As part of which, the Defense Ministry has now approved the purchase of 4960 Milan-2T anti-tank guided missiles worth Rs 1188 crore. Importantly, these missiles are to be manufactured in India. It will be manufactured by an Indian company. The French defense firm has also issued a license for this.

The deal to buy these missiles was long overdue. Constant efforts were being made for it. However its production was being delayed. Now the Make in India campaign will get more momentum due to its production in India. For this, the government has entered into a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited.

Anti-tank missiles are used to blow up armored vehicles, including tanks, and the missiles India has traded for are of the third generation. The missile can be launched from the ground or from a vehicle. The involvement of missiles will further strengthen the Indian Army.
