There is also discrimination in jobs and employment. Kinners are not selected even if they are considered educated or qualified for the job. As a result, they are often forced to beg. According to a source, the number of third genders in India in the 2011 census was 2.2 lakh. However, the number of kinsmen is believed to be higher than the census data.
