Virat Chandra, a 7-year-old mountaineer from Telangana, has reached Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, and hoisted a tricolor. Virat achieved this feat on March 6 at the 5,895 meter high Kilimanjaro peak in Tanzania.

Virat was accompanied by his coach Bharat at the time. Virat did this after 75 days of rigorous training and starting the climb on March 5. "I was a little scared but also wanted to reach my goal so I didn't give up," Virat said. This peak is famous for blizzards and terrible cold.

The coach who led Virat's campaign said that he was taking all possible precautions for the campaign. According to him, if Virat felt uncomfortable, he would go back, but Virat was proud. Bharte said many people back off when they train mountaineers to climb Kilimanjaro but Virat completed his training with great dedication.
