New delhi date. Friday 12 March 2021

A lockdown was imposed across the country last year due to the spread of the corona virus. Meanwhile, the Tihar Jail administration had released a total of 1164 inmates on parole after witnessing the Kovid-19 transition. So that the prison is less crowded and there is no spread of corona infection. The inmates were also directed to return to the jail at the end of the parole period but so far 200 inmates have not been able to return.

Meanwhile, Shamshad, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment, was also granted emergency parole but was involved in ATM breaking incidents as soon as he was released from jail. He too went underground after his parole ended but was arrested by the Delhi Police. He is serving a life sentence in the Dholakuwa gang rape case in 2010.

The Tihar Jail administration will soon write a letter to the administration on the matter. So that fugitive prisoners can be arrested. During the lockdown, the prison administration granted 45 days anticipatory bail to some inmates while granting immediate parole to some inmates for 8 weeks.
