EC orders Center to remove PM Modi's photo from vaccine certificate, find out the reason

- TMC accuses central government of violating code of conduct

New delhi date. Saturday, March 6, 2021

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has rejected allegations by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of violating the code of conduct leveled at the Center. The allegation was made by TMC MP Derek O'Brien over the use of a photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a vaccination certificate. However, at the same time, the Election Commission has directed the Union Health Ministry to look for an alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo on the certificate.

According to a complaint by a TMC MP, the use of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo on the digital certificate of corona vaccine is an abuse of official machinery during the West Bengal Assembly elections.

The Election Commission had sought a report from the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal on the matter. The Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal in his report said that there is a plan for a vaccination campaign center. Therefore, the decision to use the image of the Prime Minister on the digital certificate is also up to the Central Government.

The Election Commission then directed the Ministry of Health to find an alternative to this picture.
