Delhi Chief Minister's power cut: Governor Sarvesarva

The bill was passed by a majority in the Lok Sabha amid opposition hobbling

People's elected representatives want to run the government by depriving CM of power: Kejriwal

New Delhi: The feud between Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party and the Centre's Modi government has resumed. Earlier, the Center had put a brake on the Kejriwal government's plan to deliver rations at home, but now the government has passed a bill in the Lok Sabha. In which the government of Delhi means the governor of Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the bill was passed to undermine the powers of the Delhi Chief Minister. Which was opposed by both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party. He also called the bill unconstitutional.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the bill deprives the people of the power to vote for them. This bill is giving the losers the power to run the government in Delhi which is wrong.

When the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2021 was introduced for discussion in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy claimed that Delhi is a Union Territory with a legislative system.

Therefore, being a Union Territory, all decisions have been taken that way. The bill has been brought for some clarification so that the people of Delhi can benefit from it. As the bill passes in both the houses, it will become law and in Delhi, not the Chief Minister but the Deputy Governor will be the supreme authority.
