Crops in the last one year. The army fired an average of a dozen times a day

New Delhi:
As India-Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to adhere to the ceasefire on the border, reports of ceasefire violations over the past year are worth knowing. Between February 2020 and February 2021, the Pakistani army fired an average of a dozen times a day.
It is claimed that efforts have been made to reduce tensions in India-Pakistan relations. A ceasefire agreement between the two countries is said to have been re-negotiated on February 9, but before that, statistics show that Pakistan has fired indiscriminately in the last one year.

Between February 2020 and February 2021, the Pakistani army violated the ceasefire an average of a dozen times a day. The Pakistani army fired on the LOC border three times during the year. This means that more than 15 firing incidents took place every day at the LOC border alone. In addition, if the firing at the international border is taken into account, the number is even higher. If the international border is taken into account, there were more than 2100 firings.
The highest firing took place in August-September. In these two months alone, there were 3 shootings. The record was broken in the last one year. An armistice agreement was signed between India and Pakistan in 2006. This is the first time since the agreement that an average of 12 daily firing incidents have taken place in 2020.
After eight rounds of firing, Pakistan has now agreed to a ceasefire as if it knew wisdom. But given Pakistan's influence, it is difficult to say how often the agreement will be maintained. This is because after the ceasefire agreement was reached in the LOC on February 9, Pakistan has again started making statements in the name of Kashmir. As claimed in media reports, Pakistan said that the agreement reached at the DGMO level on the LOC issue did not mean that we had changed our stance on the Kashmir issue. Our policy on Kashmir is clear and India should undo the political status of Kashmir. This will improve relations between the two countries.
