Banks strike for two days from today, will affect crores of financial transactions, know nothing will affect services

Millions of government bank employees will be on a two-day strike on Monday and Tuesday. Bank employees are going on strike in protest of the privatization of two public banks and some other demands. Grameen Banks will also be involved in the strike.

As many as one million bank workers from across the country are expected to join the strike. It is estimated that more than 60,000 bank employees in Gujarat will join the strike. Five thousand branches in the state will be closed and crores of rupees will be lost.

One million employees of the United Forum of Bank Unions have been protesting against the central government's policies since last month and now a two-day bank strike has been announced on March 15 and 16. It may be mentioned here that banks were also closed on Saturday and Sunday. Thus, the operations of government banks will be suspended for four consecutive days. As a result, millions of economic transactions have stalled.

Nothing will affect the service

Due to this strike, all the works like deposit, withdrawal, check clearance, loan approval will be stopped in the branch. However, the ATM service will continue. As well as the option of online transaction will also be available. Instead of going to the branch on March 15 and 16, the customer can transact through the UPI payment service and also use the net banking service from home. The strike will have no effect on ATMs.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in the budget the privatization of two more state-owned banks besides IDBI Bank. Which the bank union is opposing. Now this protest has taken the form of a strike.
