Another drop in inflation, for the second time in a week, domestic gas cylinders became more expensive.


- New price Rs 819 with an increase of Rs 25 on March 1

In the national capital, the price of a subsidized domestic gas cylinder has been hiked by Rs 25 again from March 1. At the same time, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has gone up from Rs 794 to Rs 819. Earlier on February 25, the price of LPG was also hiked by Rs 25.

In Kolkata, the price of both subsidized and commercial gas cylinders has gone up. The price of a subsidized gas cylinder has gone up by Rs 25 to Rs 845.50 while the price of a commercial gas cylinder has been hiked by Rs 19.

Price hike from December 1 so far

LPG cylinders have gone up by Rs 225 in the national capital since December 1. On December 1, the price of LPG rose from Rs 594 to Rs 644. It then rose from Rs 644 to Rs 694 on January 1. The latter rose from Rs 694 to Rs 719 on February 4 and from Rs 719 to Rs 769 on February 15.

Then on February 25, the price of LPG was increased by Rs 25 to Rs 794 from Rs 769. Now, with the price of LPG being hiked by Rs 25 on March 1, its current price has gone up to Rs 819. The government subsidizes 12 cylinders (14.2 kg) per household.
