83.76 per cent of the new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in these 6 states: Ministry of Health

Of the 17,921 new cases released a day before Kovid-19 in the country, 83.76 per cent were reported in six states - Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. According to the ministry, the number of patients undergoing treatment in the country is 1.84 lakh, which is 1.64 per cent of the total cases.

The number of tests conducted in the country so far has crossed 22 crore, and the daily transition rate is 2.43 per cent, with Maharashtra continuing to receive the highest number of new cases, with 9,927 more cases reported in the state, followed by Kerala with 2,316 and Punjab with 1,027 has come. According to the ministry, the epidemic has killed 133 more patients across the country, with 77.44 per cent of the deaths reported in five states. Maharashtra had the highest number of 56 deaths in a single day, followed by Punjab with 20 and Kerala with 16.

No one has died from Kovid-19 in a single day in 19 states and Union Territories in the country, including Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Bihar, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Sikkim, Ladakh, Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Diu, Tripura, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Arunachal Pradesh. More than 2.43 crore doses of the vaccine have been given through 3,39,145 sessions as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to a report.

This includes 71,30,098 health workers and 69,36,480 front-line workers who were given the first dose. On the 53rd day of vaccination, more than 13.5 lakh doses of vaccine were given in 52,351 sessions. Of these, 10,60,944 beneficiaries were given the first dose and 2,98,229 health workers and advanced front staff were given the second dose of the vaccine.
