1.54 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far: Govt

So far across the country, 1.54 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given to the beneficiaries. The figures also include the 6,09,845 doses given Tuesday. The Union Ministry of Health has given this information in its provisional figures. The nationwide vaccination campaign for Covid-19 began on January 16 with the vaccination of health workers. So the vaccination of front line workers started from 2nd February. Since then, vaccinations have been started from March 1 for people over 60 years of age and those over 45 years of age and suffering from serious illness.

A total of 1,54,61,864 doses of the vaccine have been given so far, according to provisional figures as of 7 p.m., the ministry said. This includes 4,34,981 beneficiaries over the age of 60 and 60,020 beneficiaries over the age of 45 with serious illnesses. A total of 6,09,845 people were vaccinated by 7 pm on Tuesday, the 46th day of vaccination, according to provisional figures from the ministry. Of these, 5,21,101 beneficiaries were given the first dose, while 88,744 health workers and front line workers were given the second dose.
