West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee summoned by CBI in coal smuggling case

The ongoing political battle over the Assembly elections in West Bengal is now turning into a legal battle. Now a CBI team has reached the house of Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee. According to information received, Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned by the CBI for coal smuggling.

Ahead of the Assembly elections, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee has suffered a setback. According to information received, a CBI team reached Abhishek Banerjee's house on Sunday with a summons for questioning in the coal smuggling case. This is the first time that action has been taken by the CBI in a coal smuggling case.

It is also learned that the CBI has summoned Abhishek Banerjee, his wife Rujira Narula and his sister-in-law for questioning. It may be mentioned that the CBI has been conducting raids in coal smuggling and illegal mining cases. The CBI also raided the hideouts of Jaydev Mandal and long-time fugitive Anoop Mafia in the case.
