The killer of 7 members of the family avoided the execution of Shabnam, find out the reason

New Delhi, 23 February 2021 Tuesday

The execution of Shabnam, convicted in the Bawankhedi massacre in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, has been postponed once again. No.

Shabnam's execution was heard in the district judge's court on Tuesday. It was already believed that Shabnam's report would be submitted to the district judge's court and a date for Shabnam's execution could be fixed if no application in the report appears to be delayed.

Shabnam's lawyer had a few days back handed over a petition to the district jail Rampur administration to make a request to the governor for a mercy petition. The same was mentioned in today's hearing, due to which the date of execution could not be fixed.

It may be mentioned here that on the night of 14/15 April 2008, Shabnam along with her boyfriend Salim killed 7 members of her own family by hitting them with an ax. In this case, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of both the lower courts.

The apex court had also rejected his appeal for reconsideration in December 2020, after which the president also rejected Shabnam's mercy petition, though a decision on Salim's mercy petition is still pending in Naini jail.
