Report of Parliamentary Committee on Defense Visits to Eastern Ladakh

According to sources, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense has decided to visit Galvan Valley and Pangong Lake in the eastern Ladakh region on Friday. This is the same area where the violent clashes between the armies of India and China took place.

The 30-member committee, headed by senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Juel Oram, is scheduled to visit the eastern Ladakh region in the last week of May or June. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also a member of the committee. The last meeting of the panel decided to visit the area in which Rahul Gandhi was not involved. However, the panel wants to visit the LAC and the committee will have to seek government approval to move to the Line of Actual Control.

India has not dropped a claim from any area: Ministry of Defense

The defense ministry said on Friday that India had not relinquished any of its territorial claims during the agreement on the withdrawal of troops from the Pangong Lake area of ​​eastern Ladakh. Also other pending issues including Depsang, Hot Springs and Gogra will be raised in the next story between the military commanders of the two countries. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had accused the government of handing over a piece of India's to China and the government's statement came against it.
