PM Modi gets emotional by mentioning Ghulam Nabi's departure from Rajya Sabha, terrorist incident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha once again on Tuesday. A total of four Congress MPs, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, left the House today. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi praised Ghulam Nabi Azad. Prime Minister Modi became emotional in the House, referring to a phone conversation he had with Ghulam Nabi Azad after a terrorist incident. Praising Ghulam Nabi, the Prime Minister said that he maintains a garden in his house which is reminiscent of Kashmir.

Mention of a terrorist incident

The Prime Minister said that Ghulam Nabi Azadji was the first to call the Gujarat pilgrims when the terrorists attacked them. That phone call was not just for instruction but the tears of Ghulam Nabi Azad were not stopping on the phone.

The Prime Minister said that Pranab Mukherjee was the Defense Minister at the time and he was asked to arrange for an Army aircraft. At that time, Ghulam Nabi Azad called from the airport. Azadji took care of his family in the same way he took care of them. He further said that power is found in life but how to recognize it can be learned from Ghulam Nabi Azadji. He also said that he has a lot of respect for Azadji as a friend.

The country's concern with the force

In his address, the Prime Minister said that Ghulam Nabi thinks of the country along with the Dal and it will be difficult for anyone to make up for his loss. Referring to an occasion, the Prime Minister said that he was talking to Ghulam Nabi in the lobby once when he was not involved in electoral politics. At that time, journalists saw him talking and Ghulam Nabi Azad replied to reporters, "Even if you see leaders fighting on TV, there is a family-like atmosphere here."

Apart from senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, the terms of two PDP and one BJP MP are coming to an end. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bade farewell to all the MPs. The Prime Minister also expressed the view that their doors are always open for the members who are bidding farewell today.
