The Union Home Ministry has announced a new standard operating procedure (SOP) to curb the spread of corona virus infection in offices. Accordingly, if only one or two cases of infection in the offices are encountered, only the area that has been infected with corona in the last 48 hours will need to be sanitized.

Work can be started after sanitization as per the rules laid down as per the SOP announced on Saturday. But if there are several cases of corona in the workplace, the entire building or block will have to be sanitized and only then can the work be started.

According to the new SOP, officers and employees living in restricted zones will have to inform their superiors about this and will not come to the office until their area falls outside the restricted zone range. At the same time, such employees should be allowed to work from home.

In addition, offices in restricted areas will remain closed. Other than that only employees and associates who do not have symptoms should be allowed to enter the office. The SOP also emphasizes strict adherence to Covid-19 prevention measures.
