No privatization of government companies needed today: PM Modi

In a webinar on privatization, PM Narendra Modi has openly and clearly presented his views on the issue.

He said that when public sector companies were started in the country, there was a need for it and today there is a need for privatization, privatization is needed to make proper use of people's money. Falls and taxpayer money is used in it.

PM Modi said that government companies should not be run just because they have been running for years or run people's homes. It is not necessary for the government to own these companies. Doing so diverts the government's attention from other public welfare schemes. And government companies' money and resources continue to be used in loss-making companies. The decision to put a talented government official in a government company is a kind of injustice to his talent and also to the people of the country.

"There is a lot of damage to be done by the government doing business and we have to think about compensating for that," he said. But we need to get out of this mindset. Privatization increases business and management and also increases employment in the country. Doing business is not the job of the government, it wastes taxpayers' money.
