New York Assembly passes resolution on Kashmir in Pakistan talks, India protests

New delhi date. Sunday, February 7, 2021

The New York State Assembly has passed a resolution declaring February 5 as Kashmir US Day, following in Pakistan's footsteps. Which has been strongly condemned by India. India has expressed displeasure over this, calling it a worrying attempt at selfishness. At the same time, India has made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, which cannot be separated.

The New York State Assembly has passed a resolution urging the governor to declare February 5 as Kashmir Ameki Day. It may be mentioned that this day is celebrated by Pakistan as Kashmir Unity Day. India has since objected to the proposal. India said this was an attempt to divide the people and misinterpret the rich cultural and social diversity of Jammu and Kashmir.

"We will speak to members of the New York Assembly on issues related to India-US partnership and the diverse Indian community," said an Indian embassy official in Washington. On the other hand, Pakistan has welcomed the proposal.
