Nepal's PM Oli arrives in San, says talks will resolve border issue

Kathmandu, 8 February 2021 Monday

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma is coming to Oli's residence on Monday, saying the ongoing border dispute with India would be resolved through diplomatic talks. Nepal and India held ministerial-level talks in Delhi last month, but could not reach a settlement. Oli made the remarks at a seminar organized by the Nepal Army.

Oli, who is also Nepal's defense minister, argued that relations with the West could be harmonious, adding that in order to strengthen Nepal-India relations amicably, we need to print a map and engage with India. Our relationship can only be reconciled through dialogue. The border dispute between Nepal and India's Susta and Kalapani areas has been going on for a long time.

During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Nepal in 2014, the two sides sent a delegation to resolve the dispute at the Foreign Secretary level, but it could not be reached. Expressed disaster and later Nepal presented a map showing the disputed area within itself, which was also rejected by India.

On Monday, he said that based on facts and evidence, there would be open and friendly discussions with India on the issue of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani. , The rulers of that time did not dare to talk about it, and we were forced to be silently displaced, it is also true that our action has increased the stigma in india too, but we have to lay claim to our territory at any cost .
