West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to launch a Rs 5 full meal scheme on Monday. Mamata Banerjee will launch the scheme in Kolkata. According to a report, the Mamata government has taken this decision with the intention of enticing the general public in view of the elections to be held in a few months. The Mamata government has named the scheme 'Maa'.

The scheme is named after the Trinamool Congress slogan Maa, Mati aur Manush Sutra. In the early days, the scheme will be launched in Kolkata and then in other parts of the state. For this, 16 common kitchens have been prepared in Kolkata.

Mamata Sarkar will provide a plate of dal, rice, vegetables and eggs for Rs. 5 under the scheme. A senior official of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation said that the time for getting food under the scheme would be fixed and informed that the budget for the scheme has been fixed. The scheme will soon be extended across the state. The TMC government had earlier launched a community kitchen for migrant workers in the lockdown.

In addition to the TMC, the Left Party CPM also started a vegetarian canteen called 'Shramjivi Canteen' for the poor and laborers. In addition to the canteen, CPM also started 50 health clinics. Under these circumstances canteen politics in the state is likely to start in the coming days. The TMC had given rations instead of midday mills to students during the Corona era.
