The way social media is being used in India is rare in any other country. Indian social media users are available 24 hours a day to comment on any issue. In the year 2020, the border dispute sparked protests against the Chinese product. However, every year on Holi-Diwali the boycott of Chinese products intensifies and later everything cools down. In the year 2020, after the border dispute, there was a lot of controversy among the Chinese companies, but even this time, China's opposition was limited to social media.

Increased 5% share in the smartphone market

After the Indo-China border dispute last year, when China and Chinese goods began to protest, it seemed that the good days of domestic mobile companies were coming. Lava and Micromax also launched several of their own phones but as usual Indians only bought Chinese phones. This is in proportion to the fact that Chinese companies accounted for 77 per cent of the 145 million smartphones sold in India last year, up 5 per cent from 2019.

Partnerships with 5G will increase

In the Indian smartphone market, even though the 5G network has not been launched yet, there is a flood of 5G smartphones. There are 5G smartphones available in the market for less than Rs 20,000. The country is about to launch 5G service soon and in these circumstances people will only choose to buy 5G phones. Most of the 5G phones will be launched by Chinese companies keeping in view the market demand and need. According to research firm Canelliz, the Indo-Chinese political tension over the border issue has had a profound effect on smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.

Xiaomi No. 1 with 27% stake

In the fourth quarter of last year, Xiaomi sold 12 million smartphones in the Indian smartphone market. At the same time, by strengthening its position, it has reached the top position in the market with a 27 per cent share. Samsung has sold 92 lakh smartphones and is in second place with a 22 per cent share. Since then, Vivo has maintained its third position with sales of 77 lakh smartphones. While Oppo has improved its rankings with sales of 5.5 million smartphones and Realmy is in fifth place with sales of 5.1 million smartphones.
