Income tax department refunds Rs 1.95 lakh crore to 1.93 crore taxpayers, check whether you got it or not

The Income Tax Department has disclosed the refunds given to the taxpayers in the current financial year.

According to the Income Tax Department, refunds of Rs 1.95 lakh crore have been paid to 1.93 crore taxpayers so far in the current financial year. Of this, Rs 1.69 crore has been refunded to taxpayers in the category of individual taxpayers and Rs 1.96 lakh crore has been refunded in the category of companies and businesses.

A total of Rs 1.95 lakh crore has been refunded to 1.93 crore taxpayers between April 1, 2020 and February 22, 2021.

This is a big relief for the taxpayers in the Corona era. The Income Tax Department says that the process of giving refunds has been expedited after the Finance Minister's announcement of a self-reliant India. Taxpayers respond to this mail as soon as possible, so that those who have not received a refund can also be given the benefit. The refund process has been done completely online.

Taxpayers can check the status of the refund by visiting the Income Tax Department's website or the e-filing portal. The refund amount is deposited directly into the taxpayer's bank account.
