- Spreading false information on Twitter

New delhi date. 8 February 2021, Monday

The peasant movement has been constantly tweeting from abroad with the aim of spreading violence and unrest in India. Within which hundreds of tweets are being made from pro-Pakistani and pro-Khalistan Twitter handles. The Ministry of Information and Technology has handed over the information of 1178 account threatening to the unity and integrity of India to Twitter and directed to take action against it.

Jack Dorsey also liked the anti-India tweet
The most surprising thing is that such tweets are also being liked by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The list of such accounts was handed over to Twitter by the ministry on February 4. But so far no action has been taken against him via Twitter.

Earlier also asked to block 257 accounts
Earlier, on January 31, the government had asked Twitter to block 257 accounts. However, Twitter has not yet taken any action in this regard. All 257 accounts are linked to tweets with the farmer genocide hashtag. Instead of taking action on such a handle, Twitter has called it freedom of expression.

The government is now considering taking action against such behavior on Twitter. According to sources, the company may challenge the government in court if the government's directives do not suit Twitter. But the government has not yet been challenged in court by Twitter. The government has told Twitter that it has made all these points under Section 69A of the IT Act. Because Twitter is spreading misinformation about the movement.
