Two years ago today, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at around 3 o'clock in the night, 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan and destroyed the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist hideouts at Balakot. . The incident has since been known as the Balakot Air Strike.


The government claims that the Mirage 2000 dropped about 1,000 kilograms of bombs on the militants' hideout, killing about 300 militants. Pakistan had no idea that India would take such action. India launched the attack on Pakistan to avenge the terrorist attack at Pulwama 12 days before the incident.


In fact, on February 14, 2019, terrorists launched a cowardly attack on Indian security personnel. The attack killed 40 CRPF personnel and seriously injured several others. A Jaish-e-Mohammed militant hit a CRPF convoy with an explosive-laden vehicle in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, causing a horrific explosion and killing Jawan.
